Default Feature requests and ideas

I thought it would be more convenient to have all feature requests, ideas, wishes and suggestions for VersaTuner in a separate thread.
To start the list, here are some most wanted things from Lex:

CX7 needs
1. Full throttle in any gear when you command it with your foot
2. Full boost in any gear
3. Traction control to be turned off. It is a pain and I learned to drive on bikes and cars without that nanny ware. Hate it. Kills takeoff and kills hard cornering.
4. Allow car to pull to top speed in 6th with Auto tranny.
5. Be able to pass the mandatory smog inspections every other year.
6. Not blow up engine.

  • Does the CX-7 have a DSC disable button like the 3/6?
4. Allow car to pull to top speed in 6th with Auto tranny.
  • No Problem - Already Done
5. Be able to pass the mandatory smog inspections every other year.
  • Depends more on hardware than the tune, assuming you have rational values for AFR.
6. Not blow up engine.
  • No Problem - The base tunes are conservative.

When can you start testing

The interface - would really like to have interpolation functions built in. Both Horizontal and Vertical interpolation. Does the interface have any hotkeys for multiplication, addition etc. when working with table cells?

Interpolation and smoothing are coming. There are +/-, multiply, and fill functions already for single or multiple cells.

The DSC button doesn't really disable it all the way.
You have to unplug the steering sensor on the 3, for example, to get it all the way off.

Any ideas?

As I've stated elsewhere, if it is too tightly integrated into the DSC system, we will leave it alone for liability reasons. For straight line acceleration, the DSC disable button does the job. We are looking at the steering angle situation.

I would assume you could just lie to it and tell it the angle is whatever-degrees all the time and make it detect that when the DSC is disabled, no?

If the steering angle is only used by the ECU to limit normal torque and is not a part of the DSC function, then we can do something with it. If it's integral to the DSC function, then we will leave it alone.

It's linked with the car's overall body control system. You can disable the DSC and the car still cuts power when the wheel's turned as well as when the rear wants to slide out.
