HTP 4" Intake Teaser Pics Happy Friday! Hope you all enjoy this "little" tease... http://i48.tinypic.com/2ai4wg9.jpg http://i46.tinypic.com/9rlgli.jpg http://i50.tinypic.com/bj94wi.jpg Installed with our MS3 battery tray (custom powder coated candy red) and plenty of room to spare... http://i46.tinypic.com/eip9w6.jpg http://i47.tinypic.com/1qqx6q.jpg http://i46.tinypic.com/2rm48s8.jpg |
Looks great. Might want to have an option without a MAF. With an intake that big idle might be an issue, i know it is a bit of an issue on the JBR 3.5" so for people who want to do blow through maf a non maf option might be good Oh and finish your 3" maf already ugh |
Idle is not an issue at all. Dustin provided a file for the test subject and it is idling, driving just like stock. Our 3" maf is done, I just don't like the price point on it. We are working on reducing the production cost of it and then I'll be happy enough to release it. Matt |
Damn, bigger than a whale penis. I run an HTP inlet. They make good shit. |
I wants meth tank! |
Ugh I wish you guys would've released this in July when I went BT! Looks sweet. Gonna have to save up for it. |
I like how there is a bead on the turbo coupler side, unlike the JBR WP.. Think I will be selling mine. |
Would this intake be beneficial for say a BNR S3 or would it be too large in Diameter? Thanks for your help. |

What size is the reducer? I want this for my BNR but I don't think I've ever seen a 4" to 2.25" reducer. Sell these now please, take my monies!!!!!! |

I wanted to get that 9" Filter in there..but there was no way. |
I run a 3.5 intake made by dustin and my idle is fine... Dustin runs a 4inch and his idle is fine.. lol good shit HTP, nice to see good big turbo options coming out. Now to make some T3/T4 manifolds! twinscroll T4 would be tits! |
In for price...will you be making a full length one as well or just the intake part alone and having the inlet as a seperate item? |
Sooo...will there be a cock related name for this one referring to something larger than that of a whale's? I Tapped that |

Incoming: Crank Position Sensor CELs Zigatapatalka |
3" should be enough till about 500...lol@ 3.5 on k04 |
@Ziggo, I know you found the fix for this and dougiefresh used it with success as well. Maybe you can post it up, or a link, so that people buying this thing don't come screaming to htp. Also, is that an air straightener? Included? And... AND pre cut to size and installed?!? |
I am Not sure my fix will work for this. it only barely works on a 3 and a half inch intake. On a 4 inch intake the idle voltage might be too low. Zigatapatalka |
what vac block is that? |
Thats pretty spiffy and much cleaner than my current random parts 4" intake... plus i'm an HTP brand-whore lol, i'll take one. @HTP, eta? or is a teaser all we get? |

hmm interesting to know that a larger intake will set off crank position sensor CEL ... doesn't the Crank position sensor just correlates with the Cam Position sensor? Not questioning your comment, just wonder why it happens. |
the check for the sensor is looking to see a specific maf voltage, like 3g/s stock, along with voltage to the CPS. the key-on-engine-off voltage may be in that range when you scale your maf a lot for a large intake, so it thinks air is flowing when its not, and thus trips the CEL. the fix is to zero out your maf for anything below what your ecu sees with the key on but engine not running. I think thats the gist of it. |
Maybe I can be a other "test subject" |
MMMMmmmmm I want one of these......4 months ago. :) It's exactly what I need for my setup. Hopefully these will be released soon. And I will be a 3rd tester lol. |
i just bought their 3" TIP for my new 3071r. Wish this was released so I could have bought this. Might be selling my 3" TIP when this is released. subbing for future updates |

Well a common error in design is not offsetting the airfoil in relation to the sensor. I learned this when I needed a 5" Maf for my domestic monster. This can cause issues with large Maf housings. An Improper airfoil design can also cause a lot of hell. |
Subbed!!! |

You would be just fine with a 3" inlet. I would not go bigger than a 3.5" on that turbo. |

We ran into this issue 2 years ago on a couple of cars while testing our 3.5" tip and that's why we didn't ever release it. We didn't have time to dig into the tuning solution so we shelved the product. Thanks to hard work like yours to discover solutions to such problems really helps to push the platform further. |

Nice! Diggin the integrated MAF turbulance screen. :naughty: |
I would suggest putting in a nipple for EBCS vent. |
