It's like Skierdood said. For every decent MS3 time in print, I've seen some idiot mag post a 1/2 to full second slower. Redline has been drummed into some of these journalist's brains so much they can't even try anything else.

Well me and my bro went to the tracks a little earlier then expected and we both did ok in my opinion the DA on saturday was 6600! so ya i ran a 15.24 @ 94 mph best and in the ST he ran a 15.06! @92 mph so he got my by a little! but im still having trouble launching so will see what happens next time we go even though by then he will be beating me by more then cause he will have cobb by then!

i am happy to report i beat my bro's time 14.6 . but with all the torque the st makes so early on i think that has something to do with it

I'd feel so short changed living at altitude knowing how much faster the car would be at sea level lol.

i traped 94 mph. ya i just had to make the tires break loose or it would fall on its face if not. Its pretty crappy having to deal with this elevations their was a str8 challenger 391 edition his best run of the day was a 13.9! and those things are rated at 470 hp! Even a lot of mods dont help up hear like they do at seal level :/ if i could get my car in a 13 that would be achievement!

I want to wake this back up. Any videos of MS3s vs. STs. The few ive seen, the MS3s were modded. Im surprised there isnt a lot more races between these two cars.

I was at our local track a few months ago and I was talking to a group of ST's. Most of them were Fully Bolted and tuned. They were running mid 14s and trapping low 100s

The quickest one was on a 2871/E85 mix and his best time was a 13.6 @106

Bad drivers/bad conditions/shitty tires all could of played a part.

12.91 @ 108.28mph K03/ BP93
12.95 @ 109.68mph K03/ E30
12.71 @ 113.1 mph GTX/BP93

Stock turbo in the 12's, and a GTX. all selfed tuned by the ST owner...Very rarely do you see a fully bolted ST run 14's, unless they fuck up the launch, or just a shitty driver.

13.6@106 sounds more like a fully bolted/tuned ST.

Thats what they run out here, stock 5.0s run 13.5s

Obviously you've never ran at fontana.

Track sucks, DA is worse and to top it off it's at slight incline.

I hope your not in the east coast trying to compare times with us out here.

well a mid 14 doesn't seem that bad, if 5.0's are running 13.5s, does it?

I didn't there was that huge of a difference.

I am on the east coast, but those times are from Memphis.

I was simply stating what I saw and what I was told from the ST drivers. But like you said, there are alot of variables that come into play at the drag strip. Especially with torque happy FWD cars on street tires.

You're not kidding. Launching our cars compared to say an Si which makes no torque is definitely interesting on street tires.

Yea, sorry i didn't mean to discount what you were saying. We have a lot of guys in our ST community that trap high, but have shitty 60' times. The wheel hop in the ST and MS3 is ridiculous esp with crap rubber. I honestly didn't know the times could vary a full second from east coast to west coast. i'm assuming its the elevation?

Well these cars are really close but I think the major separator is the stock size turbo's. From what I've notice when I race my bro from a dead the problem with a focus st is launching by 2500 their already hitting full torque! So the launch plays a major roll in their time but from a a roll race we have some good races!
