Can someone take a look at my datalog? 1 Attachment(s) I know there's tonnes of these, so my apologies in advance. However for some reason i am paranoid about my speed3. She pulls hard and strong, i have all the mods to run stage 2 stratefied tune, but just to make sure, as this is quite new to me, i would just like an opinion or two. Onto the details : 2008 speed3 160k jbr stage 1 intake some ebay turbo inlet (still better than stock lol) autotech hpfp internals exhaust is stock, but i cut out the 2nd cat forge bpv (blue spring w 2 shims) and rmm...which is irrelevant. Anyways, I really hope all is well, the LTFT looks high to me, but again, I'm not entirely sure of what im looking at. The boost spikes to 21-22, and tapers to a low 15-13...when it should be around 18....ummm....oh, run was done at 15 degree celcius temperatures if that helps? I dont know what else I can add, so i hope this is enough info. All info is appreciated |
Read thru this, then do some research on how to do a MAF Calibration. http://www.mazdaspeedforum.org/forum/forum/f511/ All and any information can be found within the search button. Your log looks okay and if you're on k04 it's not gonna hold boost up top. |
You said this was a stage 2 tune? I can't understand why a stage 2 tune would target 10.8 afr in higher rpm. Looks a lot more like stock tune. K04 shouldn't have issue holding 17-18 psi boost if wgdc is adjusted for such but your log shows only around 40% up top. |
Would the afr issue be possibly caused by the maf ot being calibrated as tek said? And yeah im pretty certain its not stock lol. Freshly flashed stratefied ots 93oct. I use petro canada's 94 (not the best, but its all i got.) And the only resent mod done was the turbo inlet and cat cutout. Sent from my SM-G900W8 using Tapatalk |
Yes if the LTFT are a bit off it may throw the WOT trims off too. Don't know if you can do a maf cal yourself for a Stratefies OTS tune but if not I'm sure they could help you in sorting it out. But before you do all that, go over the obvious things like checking for leaks post maf and boost leaks as well. |
Yeah sounds good, cant trust those ebay tips too much. Or potentially the bpv needs a stiffer spring in it? From what i've read everyone says to run blue with 2 shims for the forge. But since the boost is upped, maybe i need to switch to a stiffer spring? Sent from my SM-G900W8 using Tapatalk |
@krap; Something is definitely off, OTS tunes target 11.4#:1 so your AFR's seem okayish (not great) until about 4000 RPM then you start to go rich and lose boost. I suspect this has more to do with a boost leak (or restriction) then an off MAF calibration. The stock MAF diameter is not far off from the JBR stage 1 you should this bad of a boost drop and rich AFR. It's possible that the cheap turbo inlet is collapsing under pressure. I wouldn't be surprised if it did they're pretty flimsy pieces of junk. I would swap it back with the OEM until you can get a better quality TIP. |
I actually highly doubt that, i was really surprised at how hard the piping is. I couldn't flatten it by hand no matter how hard i tried. I guess boost leak test is the way to go. Thanks a lot for the info, if anyone all inputs welcome. Not really new to turboed cars, but new to the speed so im just trying absorb as much info as possible Sent from my SM-G900W8 using Tapatalk |
