How To: Stratified Tune

Even before diving into the details, check out some of our Tuning Results! We strive for excellence in terms of performance, reliability, and driveability.

Here's the quick and easy information for setting up E-tuning with Stratified. As you know we're part of the PERM tuning network and we've been very happy to help out with the tuning tasks. We'll continue to do so (big happy tuning family) but we're also setup with a web store where all products are sold:

This includes all the information you need to get a tune started. The process is simple and we've streamlined it with easy to fill out forms and instructions. All you need to have is have a vehicle we tune (MazdaSpeeds/Mazda MPS of course and more platforms on the horizon), hop on the webstore, purchase a tune and you'll be contacted shortly. We've worked with people on many continents and tune using both the COBB AP and VersaTuner.

Mazda DISI Tuning : Stratified Automotive Controls

There's no waiting to get started since we throttle tunes by making a few available on our store each week. If it's sold out, another slot will be again available the week after. This keeps things simple and rolling smoothly.

In terms of experience, after tuning over 100 MazdaSpeeds alone we handle everything from the simple bolt-ons, to race specific tunes, to more exotic big turbo setups (GT, GTX, BNR). We also do E85, meth, alternative fuel tunes. The tunes are vehicle specific and meant to extract the most safe performance from your vehicle with your modifications and in the conditions that you drive in.

If you're local, want to get on a dyno, etc. we can work with this as well.

Why choose Stratified? - Because we engineer, and that's better than just tuning.

You get access to engineering and tuning experience that goes beyond knowing how to manipulate ECU tables. With a full engineering degree, I understood that "tuning" a vehicle is a process that requires knowledge and experience in everything from the mechanics of the engine, to the control system, to fluid dynamics.

From the early days of this platform Stratified has explored failure modes of the DISI (http://www.mazdaspeedforum.org/forum/foru...ng-rods-33010/, http://www.mazdaspeedforum.org/forum/foru...vations-42105/), have been at the forefront of flash tuning with both the COBB AP and VersaTuner and have influenced some of the features you see present on both of these tuning platforms. We have even engineered innovative devices for the vehicle (Guardian Angel Overboost Protection [GUARDIAN_ANGEL (0100-0003.3)] - $199.00CAD : Stratified Automotive Controls) and have more in the pipeline. We continue to push forward technically and always share our findings to help the owners understand their cars better and how to achieve the best results (Blog : Tech Talk : Stratified Automotive Controls)

Stratified has been around before the MazdaSpeed platform existed and our automotive engineering knowledge spans beyond tuning the DISI and into full standalones (Plug and Play ECUs : Stratified Automotive Controls). When you choose us, you are are getting access to a no-compromise tuning and coaching experience that emphasizes performance, reliability, efficiency, and driving experience. The philosophy is to deliver a whole package catered to the customer's needs.

Specifically on the MazdaSpeed platform we've dealt with pretty much every control system, calibration, and engine related issue out there. Whether it's boost creep, oscillations, internal gates, leaks, etc. we've seen it all and can spot an issue and coach through a solution quickly.

A lot of people are taking holidays around this time of year and I get this question often:

"I am about to go on holidays, will my tuning time be affected if I started the tune before?"

The answer is that we can certainly pause the tuning while you're away. The tuning timeline is a guideline so that both the tuner and customer stay on track Circumstances come up on both ends and we simply extend the tuning time. So if anything is coming up, don't hesitate to ask to pause the tuning. We'll be happy to do this for you and work with both your schedule and circumstances. We've even worked with customers that had jobs requiring lots of out of country travel and accommodated them. In the end, we all want fast, fun, safe cars that are enjoyed that's what we're here to help you achieve.
