Default Lex almost got me in trouble

Slightly OT.
I just installed my AP today, been dying to test the OTS stg1 to go with my JBR Power Path Stg 2, but I had to work. Anyway, I had planned on getting a good pull in leaving downtown from work once I got on the highway. I kinda got on it in 2nd leaving the last red light before the interstate begins. Spun through second, did not expect that at all. I let off and cruised at 40 or so, no big deal. Then, I saw the headlights of doom and instantly recognized it as a cop. FML. He follows me for a bit before finally hitting the lights. I'm trying to discretely throw the cobb under the seat along with the wiring before he gets to the car while I try to think of an excuse. I got it. He comes up and asks for license and registration and all and I tell him that I just got off work and that the car just got away from me for a second, causing me to take off and screech the tires. I got a warning.
I still haven't had a chance to see how much of a difference the ots stg 1 makes, but if this is any indication, then it is enough to get you in trouble. The butt dyno approves so far.
I just want to log one good pull, is that too much to ask?

You're lucky and a retard... lucky because he didnt draw on you and order you out for grabbing under the seat. a retard for that as well as not being honest. A simple "Sorry, I just got my car tuned and I'm not used to the changes yet." is better than some bs lie.

Look before you leap....

I read the title and got a little worried. I think the OP is just sharing an amusing anecdote but the rule of thumb is to use responsibly An empty road out of town or open highway are safer places for a pull.

Haha. I think everyone misunderstood me. I was not doing a pull in second. The new tune simply had more power than expected that low in the powerband. The tires barked a bit when I shifted into second. It wasn't entirely intentional, yes, i got on it a bit leaving the light, but I wasn't trying to blow the tires off or anything. Just a little spurt of quickness and then cruise at a normal speed until the road changes to the interstate.

He wasn't behind me at the light, at least not directly or anywhere in my view. They are trying to crack down on drunk drivers here this month, I think he pulled me over more to ensure that I wasn't intoxicated. I didn't reach under the seat, I simply threw the AP that was already in my hand under me. It wasn't a big deal at all, even to the cop. If anything, I think he was more amused about it than anything else. When I told him what happened I didn't totally lie either. I really didn't intend to take off like that, but with @Lex;'s new tune, the car is a bit more lively than I had anticipated. Guess I shouldn't have tried to tell the whole story via my phone.

I thought I'd share my humorous anecdote, apparently you dudes take shit to heart. And by your responses, there are a ton of dbags with speeds, that do things like that for everyone to assume that I was acting like a total douche. My comment about wanting one good pull still stands, I don't need anything crazy, just need a proper chance to find out how the LTFT looks overall. But, I won't be doing that until the proper time and place comes up.
My question for @Lex; is this, should I see an improvement in fuel economy in this tune compared to factory given the same driving conditions? The S-OTS maps are load based correct?, what are the factory maps based from, load or boost?

They are load based and a good number of people reported improved fuel economy but this largely depends on how each person drives the car. Post up once you get some miles on the map.

Cool, thanks for the info @Lex; I'll let you know how it pans out. All I have to compare to is against the factory ECU, I didn't even attempt to run one of the Cobb maps at all.
@predapio; It's probably my own fault for not being clear enough to begin with.

OP I understand where you were coming from, just be careful of how you title your posts when speaking in regards to one of the forums most respected members/vendor.

I'm aware of Lex's standing. I wouldn't have bought the JBR Intake if it weren't for Lex and his S-OTS maps. It was meant in jest, (especially the title) but everyone decided to crawl my ass like I pulled up next to a cop and did a burnout while somehow blaming said asshattery on Lex. At least he recognized that the post was humorous in nature. It's all good though.

Hopefully after a hpfp and dp I'll be able to take advantage of Lex's custom tunes as well.

Lol you guys can be so mean! Think peace and love yall lol

Anyway, OP as far as fuel economy goes, I did notice quite the improvement, from around 11.5L/100Km down to roughly 9.5L/100Km on average mostly city driving with a somewhat good foot on the pedal.

I love the S-OTS stage 1 as well, performs so nice compared to the Cobb maps, if you are looking for just a little more and better driveability, once you hit that stage 2 you should be pretty happy!

I for one an glad I found out about Stratified, thanks to this site actually which I need to fuking donate to! Else I'd still be running the Cobb maps lol
