(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score If i used a 1/8" (0.125) hole, it would reduce the area by just over half. I guess i'll try that first.

| Not Ranked : 0 score i think the pic is deceiving... dustin did you measure the orifice with calipers by any chance? Or just guessing off the tape? If you have a set of calipers they may reach in there (from the reverse side) and give you exact measurement |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score LOL, i can't even count tick marks on a measuring tape, much less use calipers, haha. definitely 3/32, and yeah, 1/16" would probably work fine, lol. Oh and 1/16" is down to 62 thousandths, so were approaching the 50 thou mark i originally mentioned, which hopefully isn't too small to function. 3/32 to 1/16 results in an area reduction of .006903 to .00306, or again, just over half.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score It's not attached to the line. I posted some pics of it a few pages back. It threads into the fuel rail with like a 10mm x 1mm pitch (or 1.25mm), and has a line that connects to it similar to the connections on the hpfp low pressure side. Here's the only writing on the valve: 7.G9.

| Not Ranked : 0 score The angles on the fitting look like the custom threads I used to cut on oil field tools. The threads we cut were on more of an angle through. We used the angles as sealing surfaces. Ive been looking at the profiles of various fittings, but I can find one that matches this.

I think an adapter like this would be okay, right lex? No different that me shoving a custom restrictor in the hole? Or do you have a change of heart about this approach. Still though, i'm with sockerdoodles, best options is a complete replacement with a valve that opens at higher pressure, like 2300 or 2500 psi.

Its fine when you have the relief valve there, because it doesnt pass rail pressure on. Thus it can pass into a rubber line (such as the stock one). If you drill that valve out, your gonna have to make whatever you put past that capable of dealing with 2000psi of fuel.

| Not Ranked : 0 score An adapter with a hole drilled out will work - obviously you'd have to have the threads machined properly. If those are not sealing threads (NPT or similar) you will need whatever is sealing that valve on the rail duplicated. Drilling out the valve is not the best idea as socks mentioned IMO. I was thinking the disc with a hole against the flat end of the valve might be cheap/easy way to do it. |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score This valve seems to seal on the surface, not on the threads. It's straight threaded. I'll make a disc soon, and see if it fits in there, but if it's too thick the sealing surface may not touch. We'll see soon. I feel sick as shit today tho. Swine flu. I'm fucked.

I'm just gonna keep up on liquids and ride it out. I think i'll be fine, but yeah, if it gets worse i'll def get checked out. As far as the valve goes, yeah, if we planned on running higher and higher pressures, eventually we'd have to upgrade to a higher pressure sensor, cause the stock is only good for 400~500 more psi. And honestly beyond that, i think the injector operation might become a lil iffy. Personally i don't want to spend 350 on a new valve, i'll probably try the disk first. Still tho, great find Mass!

| Not Ranked : 0 score Ide buy that valve, that isnt a bad price for a valve if it is high enough quality to hold a consistent pressure for a few years etc, it would suck if it lost or gained pressure.

| Not Ranked : 0 score In the end we might not need a valve at all. This is why starting with a cheap disk to test is best. You can also put a restrictor pill in the hose that is low pressure downstream of the valve. As long as you don't make the pill very small, it should restrict enough flow. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score i would not recommend putting in a restrictor pill downstream. that will increase pressure in the low pressure line and could make it burst. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score It's a matter of how large of a restrictor Ideally however it should be on the high pressure side, I agree. I don't think it would take much of a restriction to bump the rail pressure up. |
