Default 500HP advice?

To anyone who saw any of my posts, I recently had an unexpected and unexplained (so far) failure of the #3 rod. I suspect hairline fractures due to material issues letting go on the intake stroke, or a banana'd rod that then let go. Anyways, I have a full motor coming and a builder (Jackson Auto Machine, does possibly the best 4g63s known to man) that'll check the clearances and set the block up for CPE pistons and Manley Turbo Tuff rods, head studs, etc. I plan for this thing to be relatively bulletproof, but also be an alright daily. I'd like to make 450-500.

That being said, I almost forgot about not having port injection. Is it worth it to go there and add it for my goals?

All your questions have been answered. Search around here and you will find all the info yo need. Yes, you will need aux fueling to hit that number.

Yes, yes. All the questions are always answered, I really want to get to know some people here though. Where's the fun in never talking to anyone and just searching?

This forum is dead. No one but the actual owners get excited over new builds. Older members are not much inclined to talk about how to achieve higher hp when they've been over it a million times already. Plus most that come on here talking about how they are going to build this or that never follow through. Its all a dream they cant afford.

The newer members will most likely be more responsive. But their knowledge is limited.
eroler1 and Varomnia like this.

The best thing you can do is comb thru battle my virtual dyno thread and read the mod lists or look thru the build section.

I didn't think you were. Letting you know how things are around here now. Lots of amazing builds have gone down that you can read through. Seems like a lot but once you get it then your goals start coming together.

I see SP63 Performance posting lots of new built blocks on his FB and Insta accounts. So speed owners are still building their cars. Just not on here.

That and companies like CorkSport are still developing new parts for our cars. For a “dead” platform we are still getting a lot of love.

the platform isnt dead at all, with the ms3 prices going down. lot of new owners will buy it mostly prolly college or highschool grads

couple years ago here where i live avaerage used genpu costs 18k now its down to 10k with 40k miles

most of guys building their car doesnt really use "forums" any more, i mean bro if youre like 12-40 y/o guarantee you have faceballs or instagram, most people build records are posted to it, other are non existeance, for example abdul, 750+ ms6 tuned by wil at pdt doesnt have any build thread and who knows if he is a member here, he doesnt post any build thereads in instagram either just pictures.

and since everybody is lazy, actually making a build thread is F******g hard.
i was gonna do it but meh,.
take pic write this pic this
no time for that,.
and second most of the OG or even the active members here are just gonna flame you out anyway. ask question and they response (search!!!! brownie)
LOL like come on bro you want me to read 2009 threads when its like 2019 and those parts used in that build doesnt even exists anymore? LOL
not ranting but seriously.
lol look at speed6 radiator, i wanted to ask if anyone knows who builds them but pretty im gonna get the answer (just search) lol turns out nobody make any aftermarket for speed6 anymore.

most of the build threads here are either mild or their parts are so custom you wont be able to get it,.

oh and this forums is slowly dying, couple years ago, it was more active with OG users just roasting new comers....

if you really want conversation then go look for high HP profile intagram and ask them in there, sp63 wont reply to any message nor threads

That's why I like the forums though. Instagram is flooded with 12y/o kids and people who aren't mentally far off.

Yep, all the kids that want to WOT everywhere, everyday, against everything are buying these cars now. Very sad as I love the MS6 in particular and sometimes I just have to wonder what happened to common sense.

Oh wait, I was a 20 something once! I crashed my share of cars and broke a lot of shit in my Mustangs. It was all about muscle cars back then.

I digress. I don't give two fucks about the MS3's. But I want to see the MS6's survive. Fortunately there are quite a few MS6 owners that take care of their rides and don't rice them out.

Fellow FB Mazdaspeed member just put air bags on his MS6 but at least he does it right. His builds are insanely clean and well thought out. Still not my thing though.

Hope to someday pick up a clean un-abused MS6 or very well built one to restore and keep as my garage queen. Sounds like a unicorn no?

There's a relatively clean MS6 for 2300 near me. Has a "vacuum leak" that's causing it to run rough I guess. Like shit, that's what I just paid for a while motor.

I've been wanting a 6 to mess with. The RX7 has been down for nearly a year now, so I dunno.

DAMN.

https://washingtondc.craigslist.org/...831669021.html

Still though. A blown turbo isn't something too bad to most of us here

Looking forward to it. Hope they do a elbow without the wastegate spot considering the new turbos they have coming out have external wastegate spots.

Sounds like a unicorn no?

https://corksport.com/blog/tag/exhaust-manifold/
So I read you own a mustang, that’s nice, how many people did you run over so far lol JK
I do own both speed tho
I picked up blown motor 6
Going to go full built and everything performance, can’t really stand stancing out, I mean you losing traction with those Cambros, and can’t understand why this donkeys putting r888r but cambering it so only sidewall touches the ground???? Wth

I’m still new to 6 but for the 3 I need some milk to control dat torque steer hence I picked up a 6

Only thing concerning me so far is cooling of air cooled turbo like pte on gen1 and 6
The Genpu have hood scoop that you can direct to turbo for cooling but I know 6 have a inefficient way to scoop air to cool it, still thinking how to cool it since I’m rocking cpe stock location

Where did you hear that? I don't own a mustang. Not since I was a teenager. Run someone over? WTF?

Anyhow, speed 6 turbos are water and oil cooled. But you already knew that right?

And the hood air intakes on both the speed 3 and 6 are to direct air to the top mount intercooler.

oops i guess my bad
i guess you didnt read in post 20 i said PTE (precision turbo)
im just expressing my concern on how to cool the PTE since most of high HP uses top mount which does bring the turbo up to where the air is flowing. with the bottom mounted turbo well you prolly know its down there......

All of that is quite true. This forum isnt very active as it once was but it has left an immense amount of knowledge within it. There still are big builds happening outside this forum. FB pages are exremely active but are filled with fucktards asking what oil should i use or what spark plugs are good.
That is an unfortunate downside of the prices of these platforms sliding is that people buy them thinking theyre race cars without any research into the platform before pulling the trigger. I owned an NA 3 for years and spent about 2yr researching Speeds before I finally bought one.

I've been neglecting posting some questions and trying to search for them but as ;eroler1 said, you try to search and you come up with threads that are 3-10 years old and that product isnt around anymore or people had certain opinions on them at the time so it makes it slightly difficult. I agree that FB pages are a source but there are way to many special people on there who in fact dont even make an attempt of putting google in their browser to search first and besides this forum comes up a lot for info so I keep turning to this one rather than others, this one seems to have a better time with MS6 instead of being all about MS3 and nothing else.

the other forum is actually pretty active, since this forum isnt as "nice" to "brownie" LOL
like what happened above people assume you have stock turbo just because they got some big stock flange upgrade.

anyway this thread got derail from its title

to reach 500
you gotta need JMF manifold/ or the focus st+damond PI plate for added injectors
then SS controller
then 4 inch since its almost same price as 3.5 intakes
then bigger turbo.
alot of guys are trying the ebay $72 focus log style exhaust manifold which is t3 and also top mount.
for speed6 having it top mounted makes it easier to do some basic checkups/maintenance and the flow of the air inside the hood will keep the PTE AIR COOLED turbos happy,. since gen2 are not WATER COOLED like some "big" drop in stock flange turbo.
buying t3/vband exhaust turbo are for me are better since theres a lot of options out there and you dont have to stick with mazda flange which get very airflow restrictive past 500.
stock IM even with single runner ported/vtcs delete wont be very reliable at 500+
since air flow isnt balance and you risk running into lean/rich condition in some cylinders
ALSO please get L19/CA 625+ for headstuds you said your builder is evo builder thats pretty nice, just remind him that the ARP 2000 for this block isnt good as the equivalent for evos, they can reach 600 with arp2k but only 300 for this block since theyll stretch

injector seals like corksport is a must, since CPE seals you have to use some paste (good luck taking it off) also the PTP injector seals is same as CPE

if you have e85 around stick with it and just go full PI
also you can use meth instead of e85 in full PI mode just get methanol safe hoses and aux tank.
if you run e85 with the stock tank you risk getting black death/hpfp stickiness which can be clean with redline s2 (geting harder to find since auto parts store is phasing them out) and use a dexos 2 like ROYAL PURPLE OIL to fight the black death

if you have genpu spin on style filter and you arent slammed on the ground you can use STP3600/fram3600 or just cross one just google it. basically its the same thread/size of the stock filter just longer means if has more filter material. (2000s ford ranger stock size filter)
the rest small stuff you can ask your tuner or preferred tuner,
like what turbo you should use or what not. most people here are just here to TROLL since they have "built mazda"

oh cams are not much necessary
i tripple double tripple check on that
nishan made 750hp, and freektune uses it still
heck even abdul 750hp still in stock cams just need upgraded springs
i forgot if its here or the other forums just search something like "affordable valve spring upgrade mazdaspeed" should be written by speed6zilla
cost less than crower but he uses ecotec retainers but crower 65 lbs spring,

oh and lower strut bar/tie bar, lol for ms3 its very noticeable you actually get less tq steer. you can grab thespeedline.com i think its $57 when i bought mine vs cs $110
once you go above 400 tq it isnt as fun as it normally does.
go with stickier front tires since 3rd gear isnt usable at low speed roll race, 4th gear is always a killer.(only on ms3)

oh the head gasket. theres a special headgasket design a while ago by oddball industries, its a custom one only some people can get it unless you know the part number, quality wise its better than stock, since its design to fight the headgasket issue near the edge of the block for water passage seems like it likes to blow there, cylinders also have the edge of the gasket form like oring for better sealing (i can pm you part number so you can get it. you have to call them to order it $119)
other than that, thats pretty what i did to mine,. i didnt post any build thread on my old 3 since meh,,, not like this people help me get this much info anyway so why give them......
Nitro likes this.

Don't forget to make sure you direct air over the turbo to keep it cool if you move the intercooler up front.

Just looked it up and he is correct. PTE turbos are oil cooled only. Never knew that.

Yes they are oil cooled only however the way his post reads it suggests the turbo will overheat if there is no air flow drected over the turbo. That is factually incorrect. Main cause of turbine overheating is high EGT not amount of airflow over a the surface of the turbine housing with stop that failure.

BTW pretty sure the GTX and EFR turbos are oil only cartridges as well.

some EFR and GTX have a port for water cooling, i mean you guys arent that stupid so look at the pics in edge, but most of the gen2 PTE turbos that will fit this car are oil cooled only

and why would you read that what i mean is over heating? what the fuck is so bad on cooling something that mostly generates heat? seriously? did i say overheat? i mean turbo ducting for air cooled is been around like duhhh? but maybe some of you guys know some better way but guess not. lol ghetto way is to use the stock ducting for TMIC tape half and it will force the air farther back where the manifold/turbo is, but since most of you guys are smart then im thinking you guys know that, and I just wanna see if any one else have any other BRILLIANT HELPFUL TIPS, but meh. above 500 heat is a little bit more bothering................
i also didnt said the turbo will fail? but since its air cooled then means cooling it with fresh air will be helpful???????

LOL so much sarcasm here, theres so much nice mods in your SIG, that says you know a lot about this car, theres no way you never heard gen2 pte are oil cooled only and no water cooling ports.

Does your train of thought have a caboose? There was not a hint of sarcasm in my post. I was admitting you were right. Fuck you. You looking to start some shit? Bring it on faggot.

This forum has gone soft. And its fucks like you that come in here acting like you know everything, start insulting others intelligence, and get banned. GTFO with your "I know better than you what it takes to reach 500HP" Here is my ridiculous list of shit I got off the internet.

Oh, you haz ricer mods. I don't have a single ricer mod on my car. Its all mounts and motor upgrades you idiot.

"OOO, I'm better than you because I duct cool air to my turbo and it's really big. Even at idle. I have two computer fans blowing hot air back onto it." "You're all so stupid cuz you don't know that PTE is only oil cooled."

FUCK YOU FAGGOT!

I don't know what your problem is but I'll bet its hard to pronounce.

Ok enough. I mis-read what you wrote. I thought I saw rice, not nice. My fault. Forget what I said. Good luck with whatever you're building.

I appreciate the good luck on my build. I respect guys who mods their suspension for spirited driving not stancing like most owners do now.

Please also STOP saying AIR COOLED turbo. It’s an oil cooled turbo. If there’s no water coolant ports, it’s called a dry housing...even thought there’s still oil going through it.

I’m NOT saying ducting air to the turbo won’t do anything.
