Default Ms6 shortblock rebuild

Hi guys, Chad here. I just signed up. Been browsing the forums for the past little while. I picked up a ms6 last week and so far have determined that the piston rod on the 4th cylinder has snapped. I don't have the history of the car but it is stock with 84k miles on it. I'm going to get the engine taken out to examine if there is any damage internally. The timing chain looks like it is OK but I need to see if any valves are bent or not. I was wondering what I should look for in the process. I am thinking of just rebuilding the short block if the valves are ok. I appreciate your feedback!

With that many miles and history mystery, get the head done too. It'll already be out and then your history mystery will be solved. It would behoove you to replace the timing chain. Never use a used timing chain unless you know how old it is and the stresses it has seen.
