(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Hi all! My speed3 genjuan has 230K miles, thought I might get to 300K. No dice. I bought it with 167K on it and did all my mods. The turbo has finally failed seals are are leaking oil and coolant. Under the oil cap is nice and frothy with coolant. My compression from cylinder 1-4 is 150, 140, 150, and finally 110. I know I need a new turbo and to build the motor my question is as follows. What should I do? 1) My local shop found a used motor with 44K miles and will install it for $5200 with a stock turbo. 2) I can get a long block from FJ, EBTEC, or Speedp3f6rmance. 3) Stock long block off edge. Would it be dumb to open it and put forged rods in it? I don't have the time or space for a full rebuild on my own but can handle the swap of one motor to anther and then sell my motor/block. This is time sensitive to me as this is my daily driver and my plan is to go bnr s4 as the turbo replacement. Please help!

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Ok. Would I be ridiculous if I got s remand long block from edge and put upgraded rods in it? Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

| Not Ranked : 0 score Well.... you'd have to re-plastigauge and get new bolts at the very least.... I don't like that idea at all, but I have had friends get away with murder when it comes to opening up an engine. (Talking back yard build with used pistons and bearings). IMHO, I would take it to a machine shop and have them to the work up to snuff.... Or just get a built motor

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Going through my body shop going to have them get the motor and turbo with 44k on it and install it for me. They did a leak down on the motor and it was at 90%. I get a 1 year warranty with that. Then bnr s4 in the future. Thanks for the responses. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

| Not Ranked : 0 score A GTX3071 is perfect for the stock block, and so will an S4. Add meth on the table and the stock motor will be happy for a pretty long time.
