Engine problems, big rubber dick stuffed into the intake, etc. I don't know, just covering my bases.

I plan on changing my RMM/PMM/Midpipe exhaust hangars (currently urethane) this weekend (hopefully).

You should totally sponsor me a TMM or let me test one before they come out.

Sweet baby jesus.

From what I'm gathering, the CS PMM is the loudest and vibest... Well I have all 3 of their mounts. Yes the full trans replacement not the inserts. I'm actually really satisfied with the trans mount. When I just had their TMM and their race RMM things weren't bad at all with the oem pmm.

THEN

I installed that damn PMM. I have around 2,500 miles on it and driving 40 miles to school a few times a week in traffic riding gears down and low rpms is KILLING ME.

Very excited that I stumbled on this mount and I have every intent to buy one. I was going to settle for a jbr 80 pmm but I'm reading that this one has noticeably less than jbr? awesome sign me up.

Just ordered and they shipped it 30min later wow!
Can't wait to install. I'm tired of the steering wheel bouncing at idle and a free hand massage when you go to turn the radio volume up.

Just installed this afternoon.
Holy shit I'm forever greatful!
I can hear the road, the exhaust, even the wind on the windshield when I'm crusing around 60.
Even if it never broke in I'd be completely satisfied. But when It does break in it'll only be that much better!

Mount setup.
- CS Race RMM
- CS TMM Full Replacement
- Damond PMM

There is a tad more movement but the CS PMM is basically a solid mount so I dont even care because it's so quiet. I may be interested in the DM RMM next

Sorry this is a slight bump, but I somehow just came across this; the only previous "Damond" part I knew of and informed people highly of is the OCC vs the other cheap ones.

Well, I just discovered after someone told me that you guys have a full set of motor mounts and plenty of other parts as well.

Just to double check @farhan@DM, this will work on a non speed3, but a standard 2.3L correct? I know it "should", just want someone to confirm.
I believe I will be replacing my very well worn Street Unit (not SURE), PMM with this one, especially after all of these reviews, and wondering where the C/S mount went... with so many unpleasing reviews from these guys, it looks like it disappeared mainly due to all of the vibrations, got up and walked away!, but I found it, they only list it on the speed3 as well which IMO is unusual as PMM/RMM are the same on both vehicles. (trans - tripod technically is too).
Just good to see new designs from people testing things out.

My old setup before was CPe rear, and then Cpe RMM, Street Unit PMM & TMM (all high duros), and currently is TRZ RMM & TMM and the old SU PMM.

My SU mount is at least 4 years old now and well worn, not to mention it doesn't exist anymore, and the design ... well.. I've seen enough TMM mounts from them to fail so it's time to move on, and I haven't had much interest in going to a JBR since the design for the PMM is unusual in a .. negative way for me (load direction makes no sense for what the PMM is meant for, and how bushes ... work).

So, according to the DM website it should be available next week so awaiting the purchase of that, and may get a review from.. gasp, a non-speed3 person.

I do have BSD as well, just to mention.

I just realized I don't know how to tag users on this forum Or the
What I do finally know though is that I have met Matt before! First EECMM I went to I met him... haven't seen him since lol.

I'll try an check this again. I have an 08 2.3 Mazda5, which I remember kinda looking at the PMM and going, "well that's slightly different in height over the MS3" We even took it off to try and fit our 1st prototype PMM, but it wasn't going to work, I cannot remember why though.

Do you have the OEM mount laying around by chance? I'm got both my OEM 5 mount and an OEM MS3 mount, I'll try and compare them tonight.

Everything I see online is giving me mixed answers if it's compatible. I wanna find out though.

I only went to that 1 EECMM, I might go again this year though.

If the MZ3 is the same as MZ5, the MS3 pmm will not fit.

Is this getting added to my list?

Guess I got lucky then Matt :p I didn't even know you still had your speed6!

I ... do not have a stock PMM lying around (who wants to, am I right? lol), but I can certainly get measurements to compare to the SU one that's in my car maybe?

I checked RockAuto just for the hell of it, and oddly enough for at least the beck/arnley they show a different part number, but if you click on it it says it can be used on both the 5 and 3, so not sure.
I wouldn't doubt the 3 and 5 are the same however.
I didn't realize the speed was different; I just knew it had that NVH thing bolted onto it.

Not to be 'that guy' but as a side note, it does seem that the JBR, SURE, and CPe mounts have the same part numbers for NAs and Speeds, obviously that can't work in all cases, but I am equally interested in what the difference is.

Bear in mind, my car is an 06. I think the PMMs DID change on the NA3s in the gen2 models; at least, I'm fairly positive the 2.5L models have a beefier motor mount, and IIRC the 2.0L kept the same as the 04-09 models.

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. I was on vacation all of last week, and didn't have much of a chance to do this prior.

I checked rockauto too and it was all goofy depending on the manufacture.

If you can get measurements of the SU one, I could let you know if ours will fit. I'd say remove it, put in on a flat surface, and measure the height from the flat surface, to each bolt hole where the mount mounts to the engine. If you have any questions about measuring it, so I can compare, feel free to call 708-680-6834 and I'll be able to respond quicker.

Here's some pics of the difference in the stock mounts.

p.s. got rid of the 6, bought another one, sold it, now I drive a slow auto 5

Is every Thread gonna have cats now?

Back on topic: The mount is installed and works perfectly. No longer do I have that knocking noise when I reverse the car. Going in the opposite direction seems to be faster maybe because the shifts are smoother...idk it just feels faster. I don't know how to explain it. Wheel hop was addressed with my JBR RMM so I cant tell a difference there yet but I do know that this is helping out a lot. There was noooooooooo added vibrations because the wife cant even tell the difference so that's a plus. So far I love this mount. The customer service and shipping was great

Thank you MATT

Just swapped my JBR 88 for a DM RMM and my stock PMM for a DM.

installed the rear first. Fired up the car. Vibes were probably cut down to atleast half of what they were. Tossed the PMM in and on a cold start the vibes were still less than my previous. Shifts are much smoother and I feel the car being a little quicker as well. There is no hesitation, it just spins and goes now. To anybody thinking of switching. Do it.

I probably put 100 miles on them this weekend, and few vibes the car has are slowly going away. I drive 50 miles a day and the vibes the JBR mount had from deacceleration was driving me mad. These mount don't do that.
Thank you Matt and Farhan.

You're very welcome.

Reviews like this are very humbling, and I appreciate every one of them. I'm glad you can increase the performance of your car, and still enjoy driving it.

do you guys also get more drivetrain sounds with the PMM. Its like I can hear the timing chain a little. IDK how to explain it. Is anyone else experiencing the same? I would like to know if this is normal

Just installed the mount last thursday, here's my 2c on it:

Ride: 2013 speed 3, 19,xxx miles

This mount is AMAZING...if you've been on the fence, you need to grab this.

My prior setup was the CS trilogy (TMM insert, 70d RMM, and PMM). The vibes and NVH with the CS PMM were awful. I didn't mind the vibes so much, but the PMM noise induced was horrible. The "ticking" of the direct inject motor was pretty loud, and the engine sounded like it was sick. The misses knew instantly when i put the mount in, and commented on why my car sounded so bad (that and the added vibes/drone).

After reading all the glowing reviews on here, i decided to try the Damond PMM. Best decision ever. NVH on the BRAND NEW mount was SIGNIFICANTLY reduced compared to the CS PMM that had a few thousand miles on it. The awful "ticking" noise was gone, i could hear my exhaust note (UR resonated CBE) over the engine noise, and random panels that would rattle through the RPM range would no longer buzzing. On the highway, drone is back to normal (or atleast comparible) to what it was with the factory PMM and my UR exhaust.

The best thing yet....it passed the wife test! When she notices a difference (and approves), that's worth its weight in gold.

Next on the list, trying out the JBR RMM. I have it ordered, just need to toss it in

Do yourself a favor, grab this mount and start spinning those tires! Car feels amazballs with this PMM.

Just checking cause I was like what the hell is this. No worries now cause I love the new 2-3 shifts. No more lock out cause the engine is moving while I shift.

Thanks for those pictures Matt, I'll measure mine out tonight when I get home. Like the message I sent back this morning on facebook, I had noted that it's hugely possible that all of these "universal" mounts are indeed in an "incorrect" position as well, so that should actually be interesting to find out.

Just installed the PMM tonight. I replaced the stock PMM because that went to crap and blew hydraulic fluid all over my engine bay. I'm still on stock RMM and TMM.

The install is straightforward enough. The provided instructions on Damond's website is very clearly written and is hard to get anything confused. The only thing I would suggest is to be patient and think things through (don't be like me and try to race the sun for outdoor light). One thing that bugged me was that the ground wire didn't fit through the little slot in back of the PMM. I had to get pliers and pull it through.

When I first started up the car, I immediately felt the difference. There was a deep vibration through the steering wheel. Others would probably get nervous as this point but I felt a rush. This is how my car is supposed to feel!

I haven't driven it much yet (only about 1.5mi to pick up food) and it's like a brand new car. Again, I don't have any other aftermarket motor mounts so the difference was HUGE. The rumble in starting in 1st to 2nd just feels great. That shift from 2-3 is so smooth and beautiful. I'm not sure if it's because I got used to driving with a busted stock PMM but I have fell in love with driving the car again. It just felt so junky before I installed this PMM.

Can't wait to see how it drives once the PMM settles/breaks in.

If my stock PMM goes bad, I'm most likely getting the DM PMM as a replacement. I'm also running a stage1 CPE RMM, which is stock-like in terms of NVH. Since you are still running with your stock RMM and TMM, I am very much looking forward to your updated review once it settles/breaks in.

Why wait till the PMM breaks.? The PMM fluid looks like a bitch to clean when it explodes

Might as well wait for his axles to break from the wheel hop on stock mounts. I can't believe how much more traction I have with the Damond set. The vibes aren't that bad at all for what you get in return.

Because right now there is no reason to upgrade to an aftermarket PMM. My car is a daily driver and doesn't get the kind of abuse that other racecar drivers on here put their cars through. I'll do the occasional WOT on my work commute. There are days when I don't get to go WOT at all because of traffic. I don't go out of my way to street race and don't do autoX. It might even be probable that my stock PMM won't break until I get to 100k miles simply because I don't drive it hard enough. At that point I'll be trading it in for something else. If it does break before I trade it in, I'll gladly upgrade to an aftermarket PMM. Otherwise, that money can be better spent on an upgraded intercooler for the upcoming Texas summer.

I've had the DM RMM on my car before. You're really only going get traction with the DM RMM if you have really sticky tires. I am running all season tires and my wheel hop turned to wheel spin when I had the DM RMM. I'm not about to go get a set of wheels to put extreme performance summer tires on simply because they are expensive and I don't have the space to store them. Then there's the thing where I don't drive my car hard enough to justify the expense of a dedicated set of summer tires/wheels. That said, I only had the DM RMM, which was great if you like to drive your car aggressively, but have no idea how the car will perform if you have the DM trilogy.
