How the shit do you get the the clamps on the PCV valve, I have bigger then average hands but even with needle nose pliers its crazy tight... I was under my car for 2 hours trying to just get my hands on it. The IM part no problem but the PCV is near impossible. Suggestions?? Is there another angle I could use to get to it, something I can remove to make room?

I'm assuming you're doing this without removing the intake manifold. It's just a pia. I cut my hands up pretty bad trying to do it without removing the manifold. You just have to work at it.

tapatalk, it sucks for free.

Use long, long needle nose pliers, get a set which have ones that are straight, 45 and 90 degree bends.
Soak the hose in hot water for a few minutes, which allows them to be more flexible
I bent one end of the hose at a 45/90 angle and held it in place with a zip tie. It made it easier to slip on the PCV valve.

5/8" barbed brass fitting. Remove from intake manifold and connect the two. Careful yanking on hose. Broken PCV is common. And many dealers do not stock and is not something you can get at a parts store.

the pcv valve hose without removing the intake manifold is a motherless motherfucker. it's possible, but you're asking for punishment on your hands. once you get the stock hose off, you can rotate the valve into a better position to slide it all the way on. a touch of oil helps. what really helped me was a pair of miniature pliers.

those things saved me from a random act of violence. beyond that it's just a matter of leverage. make sure you exercise persistence and foul language. that helps as well.

Removing the dipstick gave me some room to work with. Using really long pliers worked as well. I picked them up at harbor freight for like 10 bucks. Really good investment.

Why not try to remove the dipstick, it'll save you some time. There's a guide on here on how to remove the intake manifold

Here's to save you from searching.

IMO, yes it's easy. Follow that how-to posted above, and clean out your intake valves while you are at it, it's worth it.

I installed an OCC from another manufacturer, same issue, clamp on PVC is facing UP. Couldn't get it off, like Raider said, 5/8" brass barb from home depot, splice PVC hose to new OCC hose. MUCH easier and time saving.

Installed the OCC today as well. Removed the intake manifold to check out the valves.

It was really simple removing the hose from the PCV and intake manifold.

I would highly suggest removing the IM for installing a OCC

That's what I used, and made sure the pcv hose had 'support', and not bearing the full weight of the fitting and the hose.. basically finding a tie off point, just do what looks right to you.

@kritz; was telling me about this not too long ago. now it makes sense but does it have to be brass (weight reason) or can it be plastic. Just curious.
