Default DM PMM+TMM Review

Well first off, my name is Geoff and I'm a vibe-aholic (BSD).

I've had JBR, CS, SURE, SU, and CPE mounts before.

When I originally purchased my current vehicle, it had Street Unit Side Mounts and a CPE Stg.2 RMM. I have no idea what duro they were, but the vibes were very tame. IMO these are the mounts that have given me the LEAST amount of vibes of any set of mounts I've ever had (and I still cling to that statement), but they left something to be desired in the engine movement department....and the safety department when tracking the vehicle. I pretty much immediately found a 70a JBR PMM and slapped that on, which GREATLY increased the NVH of the vehicle in every department. TBH I don't know if the vehicle was really much more solid than it was before, but I felt better knowing I didn't have a SU PMM. Right before ENM I made the impulse decision I was going to purchase both side mounts from DM.

I rolled into good ol' Buffalo Grove, IL the Saturday of ENM and @WetzMS3; and myself struggled a bit to get my damn battery box out thanks to a hilarious amount of hex bolts the previous owner had used to install it (custom piece). Anyway, once that was all out of the way, the install was fairly straight forward. We struggled a tiny bit getting the TMM to sit flush on the vehicle and we first thought that it wasn't going to fit, but we wiggled it on and she held solid. Good. @WetzMS3; installed the PMM before I could get the damn battery box back together LOL.

First start and of course I get the heavy amount of vibes I expected. These has subsided a tiny bit, but it's still no walk in the park at idle (1000 rpm idle). The amount of interior rattles is still there, but they are definitely less than my previous combination (JBR 70 pmm, CPE RMM, SU TMM). The car hasn't been driven too much since I've been trying to figure out a driveline clunk so I may have about 350-400 miles on these mounts (and 1 track day and 1 Autox); I expect the vibes to subside a little more. The cabin noise during highway driving is hard to judge too; it has always been loud and I can't tell any difference really. But, what do you want from me? It's got a ricer special 5" tip yo.

What the real money shot was, as they say in the biz, is the amount of movement that decreased when engaging my old school 6 puck. For those of you that do not know, the old design of the 6 puck had a stupid heavy pressure plate, creating a 50-60 lb pedal stroke. The engagement of this has always gave me trouble and now I know why; the damn driveline was moving everytime I engaged this thing! It's now very smooth and very manageable; I honestly enjoy driving this vehicle now. The shifting was always reasonable and I still think it's okay, but I have a skewed view of that stuff because it's what I do for a living lol.

Overall, best mounts I've ever had. And I'm not just saying that because I love touching the ginger's butt or love exploiting Sluntworks for free labor. Thanks again to Wetz and Farhan for lending me their garage. Fucking. Love. It.
