Power Steering Cooler Kits Whether you're running a FMIC on your MS3, where you've had to modify your factory power steering cooler to make room, or looking for cooler PS fluid temp on your MS3 or MS6, there is a solution! http://damondmotorsports.com/collect...ng-cooler-kits http://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/042...g?v=1399085660 The Damond Motorsports Power Steering Cooler Kits utilize a stacked plate cooler design, over a tube and fin design. The stacked plate cooler design can provide more effective cooling with a smaller sized cooler, and it is more durable, compared to tube and fin design coolers. We offer two different mounting locations for the 07-09 MS3, to allow for fitment on vehicles with or without front mount intercoolers. Many intercooler kits require the factory powersteering cooler to be relocated, and are rarely supplied with relocation mounting hardware. During testing on my old MS6, with a smaller cooler (50% less surface area than the coolers in the kits), 15-25% cooler fluid temperatures were achieved, depending on the location of the cooler. Our powersteering cooler kits are complete kits, and we include everything needed to install the cooler in the desired location. Prices are $90-95, depending on the car, free shipping. For the MS3: Recommended for use with FMICs Cooler is located above the intercooler and out of the way Cool air is provided by the front bumper fascia Ambient temperature sensor can be easily relocated http://i797.photobucket.com/albums/y...pse1b9e7b3.jpg http://i797.photobucket.com/albums/y...psf18da790.jpg For the MS6: Same location as the factory cooler Hot air is pulled from the wheel well shroud. Fog light shroud can be modified to provide more air flow to the cooler Will not fit with CAIs and some FMICs http://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/042...g?v=1399085717 http://www.damondms.com/psc-ms6v1.1.jpg Custom universal PS cooler kits available, just ask! Feel free to post up any questions, comments, or whatever that you may have about the PS cooler kits. |

Do you have any larger coolers by chance? I need a better one on my Jeep. I just recently installed hydro assist steering on it and the hydraulic cylinder gets pretty hot so i need a better cooler. Let me know if you have something bigger and better. |
Damn. I need this. Having a hard time installing Spearco FMIC hot pipe cause the cooler is in the way. Hopefully I can get it to not be in the way enough to get the FMIC done so I can drive my car. But I do want one of these. Possibly have you ship 2 to save on shipping. One for me one for @DSIT995;. Wrong thread so we can discuss in PMs, but I also need to speak to you about redoing my PCV system. I have an SM OCC mounted by horn with two OEM PCV valves so need to replace one with a check valve and replace hose. Hose is OK and hasn’t collapsed but has clogged and caused dipstick issues until I cleaned it. It is just NAPA hose so its really stiff. Was looking at getting a perm plate, but dont know if it is necessary. But I had oil in my CAI/TIP that was dripping out of TIP before turbo and made a mess. So want to do something with VC vent. I assume just going to a vented OCC would work...IDK./wrong thread post |
Just placed my order for the MS6 cooler. Thank you SO much for producing these, man. My MS6 was having trouble at the last auto-x and I blew a line at a track day so I'm looking forward to installing your kit and replacing the lines and keeping the ole girl cool. |
I think the last post just answered my question, if this cooler would help elinate PS fatigue when the rack is at full turn for long periods of time |
You shouldn't ever have your PS pump at full lock for long periods of time. It's not good for the pump. And if ya think about it, if your at full lock, you're not moving the steering wheel so it wouldn't heat up the fluid. I noticed my PS was getting harder to turn the wheel at a hot auto-x because I'm constantly sawing the wheel back and forth. But I'm no racing/mechanical expert. I'm just curious, are you circle racing or something with your MS6? |
oil coolers soon?!?!? |
Installed mine yesterday. Cleans up the front so much and crazy easy to install. tapatalk sucks. |

So is there a version for the 6 that will work with a FMIC and not put it in the stock location? If you need to use a smaller heat exchanger I'm fine with that. I'm really just looking for a cooler that will perform as good as stock but in a different location. @Matt@DamondMotorsports; |
Well, the stock location works with most if not all FMICs... unless you're doing sumtin custom. Regardless, I'm sure we'll have kits in stock when you come around for winter break or whenever Austin, and I can do a custom set-up for you, if you'd like to come by. |
So...this will help me steer faster? |

The most noticeable way to alter steering would an alignment. But if you're looking to "steer" faster, this is the best way... http://www.megankfitness.com/wp-cont...ight-room2.jpg |

I'll get in touch with you when I get home for break. Thanks Matt! |
PS cooler kits are back in stock! Order yours here: Damond Motorsports Power Steering Cooler Install kit | Damond Motorsports |
Couple pics of the track PS cooler set-up in the works. I'll be working on a front mount location on the MS6 hopefully shortly after Xmas, for both the larger track cooler, and the coolers currently in our kits. http://i797.photobucket.com/albums/y...psa96fb885.jpg http://i797.photobucket.com/albums/y...psfdcd5217.jpg |

Also can the regular cooler be mounted back that far? |

Lets meet up sometime soon, and I'll get you set-up with a front mount option. |

Ordered! |
I love my PS cooler, no more boiling PS fluid on the dragon! One of the best reliability upgrades for the 6 IMO. |
Nice! I need this! I boiled my fluid and cooked my pump on my first trip to the dragon. |
Looking to order soon. My cooler is super corroded now and the hardline interferes with my new charge pipe routing. Just to be clear, the hose included replaces the hardline and both soft lines? |
You use an existing rubber line (s shaped) that comes off near the front drivers wheel at the steering rack. You put it where the hardline used to be near the front subframe behind the bumper (where it was connected with a shorter rubber hose...typically your drain point.) the included rubber line goes where the old s hose was pulled from (steering rack area) and routes up to the front. The hardline from the pump and resoivoir to the front left of the car remains untouched up until the short rubber hose where the second hardline starts at the factory ps coooler. I ordered a replacement s hose when I did mine.. Might as well it was like 12bucks to be worry free |
Super excited, just ordered mine! Had nothing be good luck with Damond products. Have a CX Racing piping kit (customized by RPM performance) and TR8 core on the way, and with my stock PS cooler all rusty and corroded figured this would be a good option to take. |
