That appears to be the MZ6/MS6 wheel, and CS doesn't make one *yet*, so how are we to know what they do or do not have on the wheel?

People said fmic for the ms6 wasn't in demand but the fmic that CS made sold out rather quickly. I know i would love to change out my wheel with something like that.

I'm waiting till I actually have it in hand and install it, but just so you know, I personally have nothing to do with the creation of the wheel. Just stumbled upon someone who could build them. I am not selling anything nor making a profit off of anything. When I receive the product I will be writing a full review and giving my honest opinion. Then I will release more info about the wheel just for the sole purpose of giving fellow MS6 owners an option for a stock modified wheel; as there are none now.

I am keeping it that way for now so if it turns out a flop I am the only one out of money and not 10+ speed owners.

Update 12/18/15

Finally got it in. Seems shipping is always going to be a bit slow. However it is holiday season.

Steering wheel at first glance looks great for a one off piece custom made to order. It is real Alcantara not the fake Faux Alcantara stuff so that is nice to know. The Quality and feel of it feels terrific and does not seem like it will wear out fast. Thumb grips are the perfect size, not too big and not too small. Flat bottom I would say is about 90% flat which is going to be a great change from stock (pic below). Quality of the stitching is up to par with what I expected. It is Diamond shaped stitching rather than a normal hemming stitch. I took pics of where the stitching was done behind the wheel as well in case anyone wants to see that. Red centering stripe at the top of the wheel is done nicely, however it doesn't come together to form a perfect circle at the bottom where it meets with itself (might just be me being picky) however the actual parts of it that you can see are done very professionally and transition great between one another. Also, The wheel is definitely a Mazdaspeed 6 wheel confirmed through part #'s on the wheel.

So the next step is going to be the install and updates one how it feels when driving but I am excited and pleased so far.

Now on to the seller info. Again, just to clarify I am getting nothing out of this but to tell fellow MS6 (and MS3 and RX-8) owners that there is now an option to get the steering wheel you have always wanted and retain the stock steering wheel buttons and horn.

Install might take a while with the holidays and me not having the car right now. But I will for sure post pics and further impressions after it is installed.

I asked the seller and because of the language barrier the only thing I got out of it so far is that its not made with steel and he says it is 100% safe. I will try to word it a bit differently and see how the flat bottom is made. Based off the thinness of the stock wheel and that this wheel is a bit firmer, I wouldn't be surprised if it was the stock wheel wrapped over with alcantara and the bottom flatted by a press machine, but that is just me speculating. I'm not even entirely sure that is possible. Let's see what he says when he gets back to me next.

In case you guys are wondering and have seen the MS3 wheels from CorkSport, the stock MS3 wheel uses an identical aluminum frame to the CS part and is super, super light. Ridiculous light.

Hope that assuages some fears.

Update: 1/9/16

Got a chance to meet up with my buddy today and we were able to install it. Here is a few pics that I remembered to snap real quick with me phone. Nothing professional. Stock wheel came off easy, this wheel swapped in even easier. No fitment issues in the very least. Everything was plug and play. All you have to do is line up the spline correctly, make sure the wheel is straight, plug in the connectors and then you are ready to go. Make sure to properly torque the wheel to 35 ft. lbs DO NOT OVER TORQUE. The backing of that column bolt that the wheel bolts to is plastic and you can break the bolt/clockspring if you over-tighten.

First impressions is it feels AMAZING. So much better than stock. Flat bottom is so nice to have. What a big difference such a little change makes. The thick thumb grips make the 10 and 2 hand grip feel solid while shifting. The Alcantara was a perfect choice. I would have been pleased with leather as well but the feel and grip that Alcantara gives you is like no other and makes your driving experience whether its around the corner or for a long trip worth it and enjoyable. Overall I am pleased with my purchase at this time. I recommend this wheel to anyone who wants an aftermarket stock wheel with being able to retain the factory horn and steering wheel control buttons.

Any idea whether other stitching colors can be custom ordered?
With CS, you can't.
Also, is the OD of the wheel same as stock?
I think the CS for the MS3 is smaller which is nice.

EDIT: Yes you can choose color of the stitching! Fucking Whoa!

Just message him and ask. He speaks english but its a little closer to broken english haha. but hopefully he would be interested in it.

I would be sure to make sure and differentiate that he has wheels for the 3 and the 6 since they are different.

Also wheel is OEM diamter. I wish it was a little smaller but really with the amount of upgrades this is from stock you really can't beat it.

You are right.
You can choose between black and red stitching.
I think what I meant to say is that there is only the perforated leather trim. I also like the thumb recess on the CS wheels better.
There is a guy in Texas that does custom wheels also in suede. Let me send him an email and see what he says about option and pricing. With that guy you would have to send in your wheel however.

Would you write them a RFQ to get estimate prices for:

1. Full Alcantara or suede wheel.
2. Perforated leather sides and suede/alcantara top and bottom.

Both options with the extended thumb prints and flat bottoms.

Just to get an idea on pricing. Their web site states prices ranging from $310 to $550 + $65 shipping to the U.S. so it could end up being pretty expensive.

So I have been driving with it installed for about a week now. (Had to bring the speed back to daily duty with the blizzard) all I can say is that I love it. It is comfortable, the suede is nice and soft but also grippy when you need it to be. The added thumb grips make holding it at 10 and 2 better than ever before. You feel very in control on any turn.

Overall I am still happy with my purchase and consider it money well spent. I am still curious to see how the Alcantara holds up overtime and how it wears. It will be a good testimony to its quality depending on how long and how it holds up.
