Default My reverse flow fmic for $217

I know there are a ton of custom fmic threads, but I've taken so much from this forum, thought I'd attempt to give some back.

I didn't want to spend a fortune on a pre made fmic kit, and I hate how the hot pipe on most are ran straight across the valve cover. I ended up going with a xspower fmic core (28×7x3.5) for $60 off eBay and the cx piping kit w free u pipe, a few couplers and 1 meter of 28mm silicone hose. Also a cx mounting kit from a member on here. I ran the hot pipe straight down and elbowed down the the drivers side and the cold pipe is 180d and ran along the underside and up to the throttle body. All in all it came out good, looks great minus the visible couplers which will be welded eventually.

I did have to move the power steering cooling line and wouldn't be able to shift to 3rd or 5th if I still had the stock shifter weight.

This is where the hot pipe goes down and runs to the drivers side.

I can't get a good pic of the cold pipe, but it just u turns out of the passenger side, runs along the bottom of the car behind the radiator and elbows up to the throttle body.

^ cold pipe

iirc, it's routed about the same as the forge fmic kit

Similar, the hot pipe is on the driver side, and instead of running along top of the fmic it's behind it

Yeah I like that idea. When I build my motor I may do the same.
Thanks.

I see, but why not just go T2B IC rather than S2S then? I assume cost could be factor but CPE FMIC is T2B so different (above post). I know of CPE FMIC core for sale by a local. I had one but switch to spearco and again T2B. I go thru wheel well but not sure how MS3 is. EIther way looks good and damn good price. Good job.

Thanks, I honestly never even thought about going t2b. I saw this core for $60 on eBay and snatched it before I had any piping or anything. I had no real plans of going fmic until I got the core. I was already running a cpe tmic lol

Full-Race has a T2B setup but you're going to pay to run that shit. Can probably source a similar setup for pennies on the dollar.

They're expensive, but they make some nice stuff. That pro stock mani is probably one of the sexiest I've seen

I'm if it's better or not, seems to work good. Be warned, it says 2.5" inlet and outlet, but they're definitely 3" so you'll need couplers. Hence my red ones from autozone lol they had no more black ones

They have a very limited selection, it's just a few couplers with their intake stuff. No auto parts place carries recirculation hose around here, I ordered a meter from eBay for $23. It doesn't like bends though, I had to use a copper elbow to keep it from kinking

? Well please share because the electric pump is in the pass side wheel well which I can see as a problem but there really no huge power steering lines as opposed to a genwon

did someone compared the piping lenght to make it this way...I bought a fmic kit exactly like that 6years ago and still using it but after seeing the other way, i think this method really make the piping longer and i was looking to convert to the other way...

I was just looking at pipe lenght VS turbo lag at first but is this really increase the air temp more than being on the side?....When the engine bay get hot, it isn't really cold on the drive side either....I know it because i succeded to squese my meth tank there with hot pipe and intake pipe the juice meth get a little hot....Routing the hot pipe else where would make me room and may reduce my meth temp.
