(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Where to begin....... In May/June of 2014 i decided i was a little bored of my GTX2867r the turbo was great and made good power but the power plateaued around 6k. I have a really good relation ship with Matt @ FJ and decided to bug him about a turbo kit. The original idea was to swap my gtx28 to a t3 housing and get some more top end out of it. i say original idea because that all changed when @Captain KR; and my self arrived at FJ. i want to get this out of the way now the staff at FJ is like no other. Fran,Matt, & Cresto did more for me that weekend than i can possibly thank them for. Fast forward to August 2014 When we got there we strapped my car down on the dyno as is with the gtx28 it made 414/425. This was on 24psi and a pretty aggressive timing curve. We then put my car on the lift and stripped off my GTX28, manifold, dp, and hot pipe. It was then that the decision was made after Matt pulled the s360 out of the box for 30 seconds that i would be using it instead haha. At the time all that was made was the manifold. Which in turn caused Matt to shofer me to various speed shops to get AN fittings/Line and other random parts to make this work. The manifold and turbo got mocked up on friday, and i kid you not Cresto and Matt were up ALL night fabbing my Downpipe, dump tube, Undermotor Hot pipe(yes fj had this done in 2014 lol), and my connection to the catback . We left the shop at 3am to get some sleep and when we came back it was all there. All we had to do was finish the install. The install it self is not a bad process. The manifold does require a little wizardry to get in and you will need a second set of hands to pull the turbo up while bolting it to the manifold but really that's the hardest part. After we finished the install it was time to get some miles on the car. Everything worked the first time. There was a little creep, but it was easily manageable. We slapped it on the dyno and put down 420whp @ 22psi with a conservative 14* timing map.Boost came on later but it carries all the way till redline. I left it at that because i was 9 hrs away from home and a pussy bahahaha. See the dyno vid at the bottom of this review. So while all this is great the car made power the exceptional part to me is this. I've had this prototype kit on my car for 12 months and over 10,000 miles, and i haven't had to touch this kit ONCE since the initial install. Not one bolt, Vband, or clamp everything just works. I've run it at boost pressure ranging from 22-32psi on my stock motor and never has the kit given me a single problem. The craftsmanship of this turbo kit is second to none. Cresto even with a pissed off fiance, stayed all night, took his time, and made sure my kit was fabricated right the first time. TLDR: kit is great heres a dyno vid. FJ went above and beyond for me.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Thanks Ryan for the awesome review!! As far as the speed 6, we are trying to figure out a kit, we know the speed 6 crowd gets left in the dark. The problem is we can never have a speed 6 for an extended period of time. Everyone always says well I'll drop it off for the weekend. To turn out a high quality product, we would need one for an extended period of time. But we are working on it!!! |

Mine is two pieces as well, 90 before the IC and then the rest to the ouutlet. My dump tube sits between my block and my axle. Adjust it one way it rattles off the block, adjust it the other way it rattles and rubs into the axle. As well as basically dumps onto the charge pipe..

| Not Ranked : 0 score If I wrap it to much it will be in contact with both. I tried wedging a peice of high temp tubing on the side and against the block but it just vibrates free. Regardless the dump still dumps right into the charge piping. I've tried orienting that dump every way to Sunday and this is the only routing in which it fits. The axle is about grooved right through the sidewalk of the dump tube at this point.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Matt made 630ish @ 30 psi if i remember right. Also the 1-2-1 Canadian with the ms6 made around 580 i think @ 28 psi. Like i said that was pretty much the most aggressive timing map i ever made.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Beautiful kit and nice numbers, the SC guys over on the Club Lexus forums love the S360/366 for the quicker spool characteristic (3.0L) and price of these turbochargers. A few guys have made 650-700 on 100% E85 with these

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score this turbo is much larger than those 2 turbos and it's journal bearing. So there is some lag associated with it. For reference this turbo flows 71lb/min and a gt4088r flows 72lb/min

| Not Ranked : 0 score @King Scumbag; That is what mine does as well. When I install my built motor, I think I'm going to change the routing of the dump tube so it's more like Ryan's. And I agree, there's about no way to avoid it either rattling or rubbing on the axle. On the bright side, our axles are stronger than the cast piping...lol. @levon.mark; The biggest issue with the speed 6 is the intercooler piping. Because of the transfer case (mostly the sheer size of it), the intercooler piping can't be run down around the motor like this. The dump tube will also need something creative done, probably routed back with the downpipe, just to have clearance. @shaneski; Initial spool is a little laggy, but there's not a whole lot you can really do about that on a turbo frame this size. This turbo maintains wheel speed really well between gears though, for a journal bearing turbo at least, so when banging gears, the lag is nearly negligible.

| Not Ranked : 0 score I don't care about the intercooler piping being routed underneath my block lol. I just want more bolt on options to pick from. At this rate, I am better off buying a DC TIG welder and doing everything myself! The only kit that I see that is truly bolt on, is kosmic's kit, which is pretty expensive for what you get.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Wow, some nice numbers. I remember bout the cams, I am still waiting for detailed response from local. But the very first answer was: all the bolts locations are the same, width is the same, timing should be manually set with the clock timing tool, thats true. I am waiting for part #, ref data and more info. We are considering now for local russian builds some S200SXE turbos with new style compressor wheel. From reading the maps and understanding the wheels geometry, they should be lil bigger than 5858, but the price really matters, we can get them for 800bucks! BorgWarner S200SX-E Has someone here gone this way?

| Not Ranked : 0 score Not too many people run BW on our cars so it's kind of tough to find info for them. What size oil feed does your kit use and are you using a restrictor at all?

| Not Ranked : 0 score We use a -4 oil feed line in our kits. With the exception of the EFR turbos, Bord Warner turbos are Journal Bearing, which DO NOT use an oil restrictor. Only Ball Bearing center sections require an oil restrictor. It's also a precision kit too. Ryan just chose the bw. We have a few PTE kits out there Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
