(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score fuel trims are normal, i looked at them today actually, i think my idle was -3%, light load was +3 , and i think heavy throttle was +5 or so. I think they are doing an update at some point for cobb's sri to calibrate the maf for it.

Long story short, smoked him, laughed about it a lot, then got some victory head when i got home. I think you can be our guinea pig with that big ass stretch of highway near your house where there are no cops. My guess is about 165 without a bigger turbo

| Not Ranked : 0 score It doesn't sound worth it to me. You seem limited in what you can do. Meaning if someday you actually want to upgrade engine internals/turbo then you need to spend 600 more for a better tuning device, and you just wasted 400 bucks for this. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Then you just sell it to someone who's not at that point yet, very simple. Plus, not EVERYONE is wanting to go that far with mods. Many guys on here are looking for big power, but there are quite a few more who use this car as a fun DD. For anyone other than the big power guys, this is a great turn key solution. |

Not to mention by the time I will be upgrading turbo/engine will be a long ways off. If I could get this for 300-350, I think it would be fully worth it. The thing is growing on me.

I didn't see any of those on 247 except of course from Hypertech and I would like to see one from a user too, not just the vendor. (Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score maybe if you actually read what i wrote in my first post you would see that i said "Third gear I can actually pull hard to 80". I am not an idiot and i know that speed is dependent on gear ratios and rpm. I meant that before i loaded the tune the car fell on its face at 70, and therefore i had to shift to fourth at that point because it was pointless to continue in third gear, now the car pulls hard all the way to redline and I can actually use third gear to get to 80.

I suggest 4th and go from say, 50 mph to, say, 100. That leaves shifting out as a variable for greater accuracy. If you really want to push load hard to check for load cut, do it in 5th. Plus, if you have a DH, the "HP calculator" loses alot of its bullshitness when you don't have wheelspin and harsh shifts like when you go from 0 or low speed.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score well i did hit load cut for the first time tonight. I floored it in third at about 50mph and load cut hit at about 5000 rpms. Im pretty sure it was because I had 2 other people in the car with me, along with all my heavy audio equipment, and that shoots engine load up pretty fucking high. Hypertech did comment in their threads on m247 that they raised the load limits a little bit but left them intact in order to prevent a mechanical failure on the engine. On the dozen or so WOT runs i have done with just myself or just me and my girl in the car i havent hit load cut any, so im pretty sure it was due to the extra passenger. I dont really mind as long as it saves the engine from killing itself. This is what they said Boost and Cut Mod Info: Something else worth mentioning related to these bolt-on mods is that with the Hypertech tuning the boost cut and load cut limiters are tuned to allow for mods, but are left in place to protect the engine from a mechanical failure that may cause destruction if these limiters are removed. With the air mass calculations correctly measured, these limits can be used just like the factory tuning uses them.
What about exhaust? Exhaust systems are also very popular mods for these cars, and after testing our tuning with aftermarket cat-back exhaust systems on the dyno, we can see why they make such an improvement in power. We measured the back pressure in the exhaust system after the catalyst during our dyno pulls and saw that an aftermarket exhaust system dramatically reduces the back pressure. Testing with an aftermarket air intake with our Hypertech tuning, we saw exhaust back pressure drop from just over 6 psi with the stock exhaust to 5psi with the aftermarket exhaust. This is roughly a 15% drop in back pressure, which resulted in additional +12HP to the ground. The additional fresh air getting into the engine was accounted for by the mass air calculations and the tuning was automatically adjusted to maintain the proper controls with the additional power. We did spend the time to adjust the tuning to see if more could be gained, but in the end, the tune is still optimized the best it can be. The additional modifications are already accounted for, so there is no need for an additional feature to adjust the tuning to account for an aftermarket exhaust system. You can see this is the case by the power gains measured at all points in the curve when the aftermarket exhaust is installed when compared to the same tune with the factory exhaust system.

| Not Ranked : 0 score maybe 12hp at redline... cause then it's not much, just like the hypertech saying you get 60 something horsepower... it could just not be the max reading everyone usually uses

| Not Ranked : 0 score yea, that 12hp is all the way up top. I guess that's not bad but the rest of the graph is a small gain. Still, this hypertech thing is looking better and better
