fuel trims are normal, i looked at them today actually, i think my idle was -3%, light load was +3 , and i think heavy throttle was +5 or so. I think they are doing an update at some point for cobb's sri to calibrate the maf for it.

does anyone know if this clears the CEL from downpipes? I've been reading people having CEL problems with their downpipes. Does anyone know if this tuner clears it?

Just ordered one. Bing cashback also offers 10% cashback for streetsideauto so maybe if I'm lucky I'll get $35.76 more off making it $321.82.

Anyone know how much farther above 155mph the ms3 will go unrestricted? I want to know, but don't want to have to find out myself.

I know, it sucks doesnt it. I got to put this thing to good use last night for the first time. I was driving along minding my own business on the highway, and when i tried to go around the douche in an older z28 in front of me he decided he did not like the idea of me passing him in the slow lane, so he dropped a gear and nailed it before I had a chance to even downshift to 4th. But when i did, that was all she wrote. He was probly two cars ahead by the time i nailed it, and about two seconds later when i was passing by like he was standing still, i wish you guys could have seen the look on his pretty little chicks face, it was like she couldnt believe this POS wagon was flying by them at such a fast rate. My girlfriend laughed when she saw this and said, " I bet he feels like a real douche bag now because he was probably trying to impress her by smoking you, that didnt work out too well for him." The car must have been modded because I was only able to pull about 3 buses on him by the time i was at 140. But we did start at about 65 and he jumped, so maybe it wasnt modded who knows.

Long story short, smoked him, laughed about it a lot, then got some victory head when i got home.

I think you can be our guinea pig with that big ass stretch of highway near your house where there are no cops. My guess is about 165 without a bigger turbo

yea the biggest gains are really after 5000 rpms, it pulls hard up to 6500 like it should, without running a crazy amount of boost

this looks like a good deal, i have been looking into getting some sort of tune, i have seen that the standback seems to be the easiest but it is really expensive and the AP looks like there is just way too many parameters for someone at my experience to be messing with, i think i might try this route

I have what might be a stupid question. I just ordered one of these. I read how it asks if you have an aftermarket intake and I have a Corksport set up. Is that on the list or is something on the list similar? Thanks.

Yes sir, corksport is one of the supported intakes. They're currently working on a tune for the Cobb SF SRI as well.

It doesn't sound worth it to me. You seem limited in what you can do. Meaning if someday you actually want to upgrade engine internals/turbo then you need to spend 600 more for a better tuning device, and you just wasted 400 bucks for this.

Sorry, I haven't been on here much. It was streetside auto, the code came up on the site. The vette code seems to be better.

I like when people claim "I can go xxmph in x gear now!". You could always go xxmph in x gear.....you can just get there faster now. Your speed is directly related to your gear ratio and engine speed.

Then you just sell it to someone who's not at that point yet, very simple. Plus, not EVERYONE is wanting to go that far with mods. Many guys on here are looking for big power, but there are quite a few more who use this car as a fun DD. For anyone other than the big power guys, this is a great turn key solution.

You are correct. I have been thinking about it, and doing some research on it, and it looks like everyone who uses it is impressed.

Not to mention by the time I will be upgrading turbo/engine will be a long ways off. If I could get this for 300-350, I think it would be fully worth it. The thing is growing on me.

Would love to see one of you guys that has this do a dyno pull with it. I didn't see any of those on 247 except of course from Hypertech and I would like to see one from a user too, not just the vendor. Sounds cool for those (like me) not wanting to go balls out with engine building/tuning.

That's the boat I'm in. I may never upgrade internals and I only honestly want a reworked k04 turbo. Sounds perfect for my situation right now. If I want something better later I'll sell it and get a good deal of my money spent back. Win-win situation.

maybe if you actually read what i wrote in my first post you would see that i said "Third gear I can actually pull hard to 80". I am not an idiot and i know that speed is dependent on gear ratios and rpm. I meant that before i loaded the tune the car fell on its face at 70, and therefore i had to shift to fourth at that point because it was pointless to continue in third gear, now the car pulls hard all the way to redline and I can actually use third gear to get to 80.

Time to speed runs will tell you if you're making progress. Pick a gear, run from a preset speed to another speed against a stopwatch, do it 3 times for a valid average, then flash and do it again, under as close to the same environmental and road conditions as you can manage.

I suggest 4th and go from say, 50 mph to, say, 100. That leaves shifting out as a variable for greater accuracy. If you really want to push load hard to check for load cut, do it in 5th.

Plus, if you have a DH, the "HP calculator" loses alot of its bullshitness when you don't have wheelspin and harsh shifts like when you go from 0 or low speed.

well i did hit load cut for the first time tonight. I floored it in third at about 50mph and load cut hit at about 5000 rpms. Im pretty sure it was because I had 2 other people in the car with me, along with all my heavy audio equipment, and that shoots engine load up pretty fucking high. Hypertech did comment in their threads on m247 that they raised the load limits a little bit but left them intact in order to prevent a mechanical failure on the engine. On the dozen or so WOT runs i have done with just myself or just me and my girl in the car i havent hit load cut any, so im pretty sure it was due to the extra passenger. I dont really mind as long as it saves the engine from killing itself. This is what they said

Boost and Cut Mod Info:
Something else worth mentioning related to these bolt-on mods is that with the Hypertech tuning the boost cut and load cut limiters are tuned to allow for mods, but are left in place to protect the engine from a mechanical failure that may cause destruction if these limiters are removed. With the air mass calculations correctly measured, these limits can be used just like the factory tuning uses them.

i know that it will clear dtc's right before you intially install the hypertech flash, but as for clearing them on a regular basis, im not sure how that would work. The ecu has to be clear of dtc's for the flash to be installed.

i was re-reading what hypertech said about the exhaust issue, and it seems like the tune is already optimized for any aftermarket cat back system, or im my case, one less restrictive than stock. see below,

What about exhaust?
Exhaust systems are also very popular mods for these cars, and after testing our tuning with aftermarket cat-back exhaust systems on the dyno, we can see why they make such an improvement in power. We measured the back pressure in the exhaust system after the catalyst during our dyno pulls and saw that an aftermarket exhaust system dramatically reduces the back pressure. Testing with an aftermarket air intake with our Hypertech tuning, we saw exhaust back pressure drop from just over 6 psi with the stock exhaust to 5psi with the aftermarket exhaust. This is roughly a 15% drop in back pressure, which resulted in additional +12HP to the ground. The additional fresh air getting into the engine was accounted for by the mass air calculations and the tuning was automatically adjusted to maintain the proper controls with the additional power. We did spend the time to adjust the tuning to see if more could be gained, but in the end, the tune is still optimized the best it can be. The additional modifications are already accounted for, so there is no need for an additional feature to adjust the tuning to account for an aftermarket exhaust system. You can see this is the case by the power gains measured at all points in the curve when the aftermarket exhaust is installed when compared to the same tune with the factory exhaust system.

maybe 12hp at redline... cause then it's not much, just like the hypertech saying you get 60 something horsepower... it could just not be the max reading everyone usually uses
